1 oz.Orgeat

Directions

  • Combine the Ingredients in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice
  • Shake for 15 Seconds
  • Strain into a Nick & Nora Glass
  • Garnish with a Lemon Peel

The Trinidad Sour is a very interesting cocktail. It was invented by Giuseppe González in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s base is Angostura Bitters which is unlike any cocktail. Though on paper this drink shouldn’t work, it is actually quite enjoyable with an herbaceous flavor. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

2 oz.Whiskey
.25 oz.Lemon Juice
2 TeaspoonsBrown Sugar (or Honey Syrup)
To TopHot Water
GarnishLemon Wheel
Garnish4 Cloves

Directions

  • Stick the Cloves in a Lemon Wheel
  • Combine the Sugar, Lemon Juice, and Whiskey in a Mug
  • Top with Hot Water
  • Stir till Combined
  • Garnish with the Lemon Wheel and Cloves

The Hot Toddy is an old drink from the 1700’s. It was first used for a variety on medicinal purposes, such as colds and sore throats. Any kind of Whiskey can be used, but if Scotch is used, it becomes closer to a Whiskey Skin.

  • Wet Shake for 15 Seconds
  • Double Strain into a Cocktail Glass or Coupe
  • Garnish with 3 Drops of Angostura Bitters

The Filibuster was created by Erik Adkins in San Francisco, California. It is essentially a Boston Sour that substitutes the Simple Syrup for Maple Syrup. You don’t want to use the cheap pancake syrup, because it doesn’t actually contain maple, and is pretty much just High-Fructose Corn Syrup with Brown Food Coloring.

The Boston Sour is a Whiskey Sour, with the addition of Egg White. The Egg White completely changes the texture of the Whiskey Sour, making it much more frothy.

  • Pour the Grenadine and Vodka into a Highball Glass over Ice
  • Top with Cola
  • Stir till Combined
  • Garnish with a Cocktail Cherry and Straw

The Roy Rodgers is a Mocktail named after the Actor and Singer of the same name. The Dirty Roy Rodgers, or Dirty Roy, is the alcoholic version of that.

New York Sour

  • Combine the Whiskey, Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup and Egg White in a Cocktail Shaker
  • Dry Shake vigorously for 30 Seconds
  • Add Ice to the Shaker
  • Wet Shake for 15 Seconds
  • Double Strain into a Rocks Glass over Ice
  • Float Red Wine on Top

The New York Sour is an old cocktail originating sometime around the Mid-1800’s. It is essentially a Boston Sour with a Red Wine Float. This cocktail has had a couple other names over the years, including the Continental Sour. It is thought to have been invented in Chicago, Illinois. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Manhattan was invented at the Manhattan Club in New York City around 1880. It has since become one of the most famous Cocktails. It is kind of like the Whiskey version of the Martini. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Amaretto Sour is an Amaretto twist on the classic Whiskey Sour.

The Blinker is a riff on the Whiskey Sour that was created in the 1930’s. Its original incarnation was made with Grenadine. Later on, it was discovered that Raspberry Syrup created an overall tastier and better balanced drink.

The Gold Rush is essentially a Whiskey Sour with Honey instead of Sugar. It was created at the Milk & Honey in New York City. The Penicillin is a riff on this drink, and was created at the same bar.
