1.5 oz.London Dry Gin
.5 oz.Applejack (Apple Brandy)
.75 oz.Lemon Juice
.25 oz.Grenadine
.5 oz.Egg White

Directions

  • Combine the Ingredients in a Cocktail Shaker
  • Dry Shake vigorously for 30 Seconds
  • Add Ice to the Shaker
  • Wet Shake for 15 seconds
  • Double Strain into a Cocktail Glass or Coupe
  • Garnish with a Brandied Cherry

The Pink Lady (no relation to the White Lady) is a prohibition cocktail with a reputation of being a “girly” cocktail. The drink shares a striking resemblance to the Clover Club.

The Margaritas origin is unclear. One theory is that it was invented by a man from Dallas, Texas who was visiting Acapulco, Mexico in 1948. Another theory is that the drink is a simple twist on the Tequila Daisy. The Margarita can be served shaken or blended and flavored by adding fruit. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Sidecar is named after the motorcycle attachment. It was invented sometime after World War I. It’s origin is unclear but there are two main theories as two where it came from. One from the Ritz Hotel in Paris, France, and the other by Pat MacGarry at the Buck’s Club in London, England. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The South Side, or Southside, was either invented in and named after the Southside Sportsman’s Club of Long Island, New York or the South Side district of Chicago, Illinois where it was thought to have been Al Capone’s drink of choice. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

Tommy’s Margarita is a riff on the Classic Margarita. It was invented in 1990 by Julio Bermejo at his parents’ restaurant called Tommy’s in San Francisco, California. After being introduced to Agave Nectar, he put it in a Margarita to help enhance the agave flavor of the Tequila. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Ward 8 (or Ward Eight) is a riff on the Whiskey Sour. The drink was invented in 1898 at the restaurant Locke-Ober in Boston, Massachusetts. It was named after a district in Boston in celebration of the election of Martin M. Lomasney to the State Senate.

The Whiskey Sour is an old cocktail originating sometime around the mid-1800’s. Not much else is known about origin of this sour. If you add Egg White, the drink becomes a Boston Sour. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Double Standard is a name used for a couple different cocktails. This one is a sour that was created by Derric Crothers over at Green Street in Boston, Massachusetts. The name “Double Standard” comes from the fact it’s a split base cocktail with both Gin and Rye in equal measure.

The Cosmopolitan, or Cosmo, is a drink that was made popular in the 90’s by the show Sex in the City. The origin of this cocktail is unclear. Some say it was a riff on the Kamikaze, while others say it is based on a cocktail of a similar name, the Cosmopolitan Daisy. This cocktail is an Official IBA Cocktail.
