1 oz.Light Rum
1 oz.Dark Rum
1 oz.Banana Liqueur
.5 oz.Crème de Mûre
1 oz.Lime Juice
2 oz.Pineapple Juice
.25 oz.Grenadine
GarnishPineapple Wedge
GarnishCocktail Cherry

Directions

  • Combine the Ingredients in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice
  • Shake for 15 seconds
  • Strain into a Hurricane Glass over Ice
  • Garnish with a Pineapple Wedge, Cocktail Cherry and Straw

The Rum Runner is a Florida drink invented in the 1950’s at a tiki bar called Holiday Isle.

Piña Colada

Ingredients

2 oz.Light Rum
1.5 oz.Pineapple Juice
.5 oz.Lime Juice
1.5 oz.Cream of Coconut
2Pineapple Chunks (Optional)
GarnishPineapple Wedge
GarnishMaraschino Cherry

Directions

  • Combine the Ingredients in a Blender with Ice
  • Blend till combined
  • Pour into a Hurricane Glass
  • Garnish with a Pineapple Wedge, Maraschino Cherry and Straw (and a Cocktail Umbrella if available)

Piña Coladas are arguable the most iconic tropical drink in part because of the song “Escape (the Piña Colada Song)” by Rupert Holmes. It is thought to have been invented in the 1950’s by Ramon Marrero Perez in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. The original recipe is a shaken drink instead of the blended drink that we all know and love today. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

.75 oz.Midori (Melon Liqueur)

  • Combine the Alcohol, Lime Juice and Simple Syrup in a Highball Glass over Ice
  • Top with Soda Water
  • Stir till combined
  • Garnish with a Lime Wheel, Cocktail Cherry and Straw

The Tokyo Tea is a Midori riff on the Long Island Iced Tea. The drink gets its name from the fact that Midori was invented in Japan.

1 oz.Brandy (or Bourbon)
1 oz.London Dry Gin
.5 oz.Lime Juice
2 DashesAngostura Bitters
To TopGinger Beer
GarnishMint Sprig

  • Combine the Liquor, Lime Juice and Bitters in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice
  • Shake for 15 seconds
  • Strain into a Collins Glass over Ice
  • Top with Ginger Beer
  • Stir till combined
  • Garnish with a Mint Sprig and Straw

The Suffering Bastard is a mule that was supposedly invented in 1942 by Joe Scialom at the Shepard’s Hotel in Cairo, Egypt. It was said to be made as a hangover cure for soldiers during World War II. This is an Official IBA Cocktail. The Trader Vic’s version of this drink has more of a tiki vibe with Rum and Orgeat and is served in a special Suffering Bastard Tiki Mug.

.25 oz.Curaçao (Orange Liqueur)
.25 oz.Orgeat
.25 oz.Rock Candy Syrup (or Simple Syrup)

  • Shake for 15 seconds
  • Strain into a Suffering Bastard Mug or Rocks Glass over Ice

The Molokai Mule name is a lie. It is not from Molokai, nor is it a mule. It was invented in the Kon Tiki Restaurant in Tucson, Arizona. Despite the deception, it is still a pretty delicious cocktail.
