  • Combine the Ingredients in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice

  • Double Strain into a Cocktail Glass or Coupe
  • Garnish with a Grapefruit Peel

The London Calling is a cocktail invented in 2002 by Chris Jepson at the Milk & Honey in London, England. The name is perhaps a reference to The Clash song of the same name.

Grapefruit Shandy

  • Combine Ingredients in a Beer Glass
  • Stir till Combined
  • Garnish with a Grapefruit Slice

The Grapefruit Shandy is a Shandy, except with Grapefruit Juice instead of Lemonade. It is the most popular Shandy riff. Some recipes call for Grapefruit Soda or try making a Grapefruit Ade with Simple Syrup and Water, but I find that to be completely unnecessary and overly sweet.

  • Layer Espresso on top
  • Layer Cream on top of the Espresso

The Hot Shot is one of the rare shots made hot, hence the name. It is a novelty shot straight out of the 90’s.

The Fernandito, or Fernet con Coca, is a two ingredient cocktail that was thought to have been invented in the 1980’s in Argentina. This is an IBA Official Cocktail.

The Canchànchara is an old Cuban cocktail that is somewhat similar to the Margarita or Daiquiri. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

12 oz.Guinness (Stout)
.75 oz.Irish Cream
.75 oz.Irish Whiskey

Directions

  • Pour the Stout in a Pint Glass
  • Pour the Irish Cream in a Shot Glass
  • Layer the Irish Whiskey on to of the Irish Cream
  • Drop the Shot Glass into the Pint Glass
  • Drink quickly before the Irish Cream begins to curdle

The Irish Car Bomb, or Irish Shot (among other names), was invented in 1979 by Charles Burke Cronin Oat in Norwich, Connecticut. The name is a reference to the fact that all the ingredients are from Ireland but also to the series of car bombing that happened in Ireland during “The Troubles.” Some deem the name offensive and have begun using other names. It is a bomb shot, not unlike the Vegas Bomb or Sake Bomb. The Shot Glass is normally dropped into the Pint Glass, but some like to just pour it in.

The origins of the Illegal are a complete mystery. Nothing about this drink is against the law, but maybe it’s a reference to Prohibition, I don’t know. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Trojan Horse, or the Guinness and Coke, is a simple two ingredient Cocktail. It is called the Trojan Horse because the Cola is supposed to hide the taste of the Stout like the Wooden Horse hid the soldiers in Greek Mythology. But is also begs the question, if you don’t like the taste of Guinness, why drink it?

  • Strain into a Cocktail Glass
  • Garnish with a Brandied Cherry

The French Manhattan is a riff on the Manhattan. It possibly got its name from the French Martini. The French Manhattan, however, is closer to the Manhattan than the French Martini is to the Martini. You can use Chambord to make it closer to the French Martini if so desired.

The Washington Apple was thought to have been invented in Washington in the 1980’s after a bug ruined much of the states apple orchards. A man named Christof Guycoogan began making Apple Liqueur out of the ruined apples. He then combined it with his favorite Cocktail. Canadian Whiskey with Cranberry Juice. This drink is often made into Shooters.
