  • Rim a Highball Glass with Salt
  • Combine Tequila and Lime Juice in the Salted Glass over Ice

The Paloma is a Mexican cocktail thought to have been invented in the 1950’s. Despite being originally made with Grapefruit Soda, more and more people have started using Grapefruit Juice and Soda Water. Fever-Tree makes a perfect Grapefruit Soda for this drink. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Sea Breeze has gone through a number of different Recipes throughout its life. The drink was a prohibition era cocktail originally containing Gin and Grenadine. The recipe later grew to involve Cranberry Juice partially because of Ocean Spray. This cocktail is closely related to the Bay Breeze, which substitutes the Grapefruit Juice for Pineapple Juice, the Cape Codder, which lacks Grapefruit Juice, and the Greyhound and Salty Dog, which lack the Cranberry Juice. The Margaritas origin is unclear. One theory is that it was invented by a man from Dallas, Texas who was visiting Acapulco, Mexico in 1948. Another theory is that the drink is a simple twist on the Tequila Daisy. The Margarita can be served shaken or blended and flavored by adding fruit. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

Tommy’s Margarita is a riff on the Classic Margarita. It was invented in 1990 by Julio Bermejo at his parents’ restaurant called Tommy’s in San Francisco, California. After being introduced to Agave Nectar, he put it in a Margarita to help enhance the agave flavor of the Tequila. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Suffering Bastard is a mule that was supposedly invented in 1942 by Joe Scialom at the Shepard’s Hotel in Cairo, Egypt. It was said to be made as a hangover cure for soldiers during World War II. This is an Official IBA Cocktail. The Trader Vic’s version of this drink has more of a tiki vibe with Rum and Orgeat and is served in a special Suffering Bastard Tiki Mug.

The Double Standard is a name used for a couple different cocktails. This one is a sour that was created by Derric Crothers over at Green Street in Boston, Massachusetts. The name “Double Standard” comes from the fact it’s a split base cocktail with both Gin and Rye in equal measure.

The Cosmopolitan, or Cosmo, is a drink that was made popular in the 90’s by the show Sex in the City. The origin of this cocktail is unclear. Some say it was a riff on the Kamikaze, while others say it is based on a cocktail of a similar name, the Cosmopolitan Daisy. This cocktail is an Official IBA Cocktail.
