Ingredients

.75 oz.London Dry Gin
.75 oz.Triple Sec
.75 oz.Lillet Blanc
.75 oz.Lemon Juice
To RinseAbsinthe

Directions

  • Rinse a Cocktail Glass or Coupe with Absinthe then set aside
  • Combine the ingredients in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice
  • Shake for 15 Seconds
  • Double Strain into the Absinthe Rinsed Glass

The Corpse Reviver No. 2 is the sequel drink to the less popular Corpse Reviver No. 1. The two drinks are very different but were invented with the same purpose in mind. They get their names from the idea that they are suppose to be hangover cures. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

2.25 oz.Gin
.5 oz.Dry Vermouth
.25 oz.Maraschino Liqueur
2 DashesOrange Bitters
RinseAbsinth
GarnishOrange Peel
GarnishBrandied Cherry

  • Rinse a Cocktail Glass or Coupe with Absinth and set aside
  • Combine the Ingredients in a Mixing Glass with Ice
  • Stir for 30 Seconds
  • Strain into the Absinth rinsed Glass
  • Garnish with an Orange Peel and Brandied Cherry

The Tuxedo No. 2 is a Martini variation and sequel to the Tuxedo, however, it is similar to the Turf Club. Like the original, it is also named after Tuxedo Park, an elite community in upstate New York. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

  • Combine the Ingredients in a Tumbler, Terracotta or Hurricane Glass with Cracked Ice
  • Stir till Combined
  • Garnish with a Mint Sprig and Straw

Planter’s Punch is a Cocktail from the late 17th Century. Some hotels in South Carolina claimed to have invented the drink, but it was more than likely created in Jamaica. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

1.25 oz.Rye Whiskey
1.25 oz.Cognac (Brandy)
3 DashesPeychaud’s Bitters
2 DashesAngostura Bitters
To RinseAbsinthe
1Sugar Cube
.5 oz.Cold Water
GarnishLemon Peel

Directions

  • Rinse a Rocks Glass with Absinthe and set aside
  • In a separate Rocks Glass (or Mixing Glass) Muddle the Sugar Cube with the Water and Bitters
  • Combine the Liquor in the Glass with the Sugar and add Ice
  • Stir for 30 Seconds
  • Strain into the Absinthe Rinsed Glass
  • Express the Oils from the Lemon Peel over the Top and then Garnish with the Peel

The Sazerac is a Cocktail that is closely associated with New Orleans and similar to the Old Fashioned. For whatever reason it is usually made using two Rocks Glasses, but using a Mixing Glass is considerably easier. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Trinidad Sour is a very interesting cocktail. It was invented by Giuseppe González in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s base is Angostura Bitters which is unlike any cocktail. Though on paper this drink shouldn’t work, it is actually quite enjoyable with an herbaceous flavor. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The history of the Yellow Bird is quite unclear. Many think it was named after a Haitian song called Choucone, which was rewritten into English as “Yellow Bird.” There are a couple different variants of this drink. The IBA version that is a Sour, and a more tropical one. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Boulevardier is a Bourbon riff on the Negroni. It was created ad Harry’s New York Bar in Paris, France. The bars owner, Harry MacElhone, credits the owner of the French Magazine Boulevardier with inventing the drink, thus the name. A version of this drink made with Rye Whiskey and Dry Vermouth is the Old Pal. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Negroni was thought to have been invented by bartender Fosco Scarselli in the 1910’s in Florence, Italy at Caffè Casoni. It was originally made as a stronger version on an Americano. The Bourbon version of this Cocktail is the Boulevardier. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Venetian Spritz, or Spritz Veneziano, is a Spritzer with the addition of a Bitter Liqueur/Apéritif. The drink was invented in Venice, Italy in the 1920’s when a Spritzer was combined with Select (a Bitter Liqueur invented in Venice). The Select Spritz was the more popular version of the drink until the 1950’s, when the Aperol Spritz became the Venetian Spritz of choice. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

  • Combine the Rum, Galliano, Pineapple Juice, Lime Juice and Simple Syrup in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice
  • Shake for 15 Seconds
  • Double Strain into a Margarita Glass
  • Top with Prosecco

The Barracuda was invented in the 1950’s by Benito Cuppari whos was a Barkeeper on the Christoforo Colombo cruise ship and later the SS Michelangelo. It was named after a Beach Club his friend owned and unfortunately not the Heart song of the same name, as the drink predates it. It is rare that a none “Margarita” drink that is served in a Margarita Glass. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.
