1.5 oz.White Rum
1 oz.Lime Juice
.5 oz.Honey Syrup
1 SplashSoda Water
GarnishLime Wedge

Directions

  • Combine the Rum, Lime Juice and Honey in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice
  • Shake for 15 Seconds
  • Double Strain into Rocks Glass over Ice
  • Top with Soda Water
  • Garnish with a Lime Wedge

The Canchànchara is an old Cuban cocktail that is somewhat similar to the Margarita or Daiquiri. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

1 oz.Gold Rum
1 oz.White Rum
1 oz.Honey Syrup
.75 oz.Grapefruit Juice
.75 oz.Lime Juice
To TopSoda Water
GarnishMint Sprig

Directions

  • Combine the Liquor, Honey Syrup and Fruit Juices in a Cocktail Shaker over Cracked Ice
  • Shake for 15 Seconds
  • Open pour into a Rocks Glass
  • Top with Soda Water
  • Stir till Combined
  • Garnish with a Lime Wheel and Mint Sprig

The Navy Grog was originally a British Navel cocktail invented in the 1700’s. The original recipe was just Rum with a bit of Water. It has since been turned into a strong tropical cocktail by Don Beach in the 1940’s.

.25 oz.Lemon Juice
2 TeaspoonsBrown Sugar (or Honey Syrup)
To TopHot Water
GarnishLemon Wheel
Garnish4 Cloves

Directions

  • Stick the Cloves in a Lemon Wheel
  • Combine the Sugar, Lemon Juice, and Whiskey in a Mug
  • Top with Hot Water
  • Stir till Combined
  • Garnish with the Lemon Wheel and Cloves

The Hot Toddy is an old drink from the 1700’s. It was first used for a variety on medicinal purposes, such as colds and sore throats. Any kind of Whiskey can be used, but if Scotch is used, it becomes closer to a Whiskey Skin.

The Bee’s Knees was created in the 1920’s and is thought to have been created by Frank Meier at the Hôtel Ritz Paris in Paris, France. The drink is essentially a Gin Sour that substitutes the Simple Syrup for Honey Syrup. There are other similar drinks such as the Honeysuckle that substitutes the Gin for White Rum, and the Honey Bee that substitutes the Gin for Dark Rum. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

  • Express the Oil from the Grapefruit Peel over the top

The Brown Derby is a simple cocktail that is thought to have been created in the 1930’s at the Vendôme Club in Los Angeles, California. The same cocktail was created in England, but went under a different name, the De Rigueur Cocktail.

The Gold Rush is essentially a Whiskey Sour with Honey instead of Sugar. It was created at the Milk & Honey in New York City. The Penicillin is a riff on this drink, and was created at the same bar.
