A member of the Rolling Stones tried it at a party in 1972 and started ordering it at bars across their tour, popularizing the drink. The tour was later known as the “Cocaine and Tequila Sunrise Tour.” In 1973, the Eagles wrote the song “Tequila Sunrise” in reference to the cocktail. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.
