Ingredients

2 oz.Bourbon (or Rye)
1 BarspoonMaraschino Liqueur
1 DashAbsinthe
.25 oz.Simple Syrup
3 DashAngostura Bitters
1 DashPeychaud’s Bitters
GarnishLemon Peel

Directions

  • Combine the Ingredients in a Mixing Glass with Ice
  • Stir for 30 Seconds
  • Strain into a Rocks Glass over Ice
  • Garnish with a Lemon Peel

The Improved Whiskey Cocktail was invented sometime in the 1800’s and was supposed to be an “improvement” to the Old Fashioned. This isn’t the only “improved” Cocktail as there is also the Improved Gin Cocktail and the Improved Brandy Cocktail.

.5 oz.Peach Schnapps
1 BarspoonLime Juice
1 BarspoonSimple Syrup
To TopLemon-Lime Soda

Directions

  • Combine the Whiskey, Schnapps, Lime Juice and Simple Syrup in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice
  • Shake for 15 Seconds
  • Strain into a Shot Glass
  • Top with Lemon-Lime Soda

The Green Tea Shot was invented by the Jameson Irish Whiskey. It is designed to kind of look like Green Tea. It tastes pretty good and many people like sipping this shot instead of just downing it. Consume it how you like.

  • Shake for 15 Seconds
  • Double Strain into a Hurricane Glass over Cracked Ice
  • Garnish with an Orange Slice, Cocktail Cherry and Straw

The Hurricane was invented in the 1940’s at Pat O’Brien’s in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Hurricane is an iconic tropical drink that even had it own Glass named after it.

  • Combine the Ingredients in a Rocks Glass with Ice
  • Stir till Combined
  • Garnish with an Orange Peel

The Cold Fashioned is obviously a riff on the Old Fashioned. The name is just taking the “C” from coffee and adding it to “Old Fashioned.”

  • Pour the Butterscotch Schnapps in a Shot Glass
  • Float Irish Cream on Top

The Buttery Nipple is another “inappropriately” named shot from the 1980’s, like the Blow Job or the similarly named Slippery Nipple. The “Buttery” part of the name refers to the Butterscotch Schnapps. It’s a weak Shooter that tastes pretty darn good.

The Rattle Skull is a Beer Cocktail from the colonial days of America. The name Rattle Skull is an insult referring to someone who is “empty headed” and talks to much, which this drink can make you as it packs a punch.

The Brooklyn, like the Bronx, is a Manhattan riff that is named after a part of New York City. It was invented sometime prior to 1908, because that is the first time it showed up in print.

The Vodka Martini, as the name suggests, is just a Martini that substitutes Gin for Vodka. This is one of the more common Martini variants. It is popular among people who prefer Vodka over Gin and fans of James Bond.

The Café con Leche Flip, or “Coffee with milk” in English, is an alcoholic riff on a latté. The cocktail was invented by Sam Ross. The drink isn’t a traditional flip, as it contains dairy and only uses Egg Yolk instead of the whole Egg.

The French Connection’s origins are unknown, but was created sometime in the 1970’s. It is similar to the Godfather, which uses Whiskey instead of Cognac. Like the Godfather, the French Connection is named after a film of the same name. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.
