The Daiquiri is thought to have been invented an American mining engineer named Jennings Cox in Daiquiri, Cuba in 1898. At some point around the 80’s, the Frozen Daiquiri became the more common version of the drink that barely resembles the original. They can normally be found at many events being served in long, funky glasses. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Mojito is a evolution of an old 1500’s Cuban cocktail named El Draque. The modern version of the drink first appeared in the early 1900’s. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

Despite its name, the Moscow Mule was invented in the United States. It more than likely got it’s name from how synonymous Russia and Vodka are. The drink was supposedly created in 1941 at the Cock ‘n’ Bull Pub in Los Angeles, California. When John Martin and the bar owner Jack Morgan had too much Smirnoff and Ginger Beer, this drink was created. The Copper Mug part is a mystery however. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Old Cuban was invented in 2001 by legendary bartender, Audrey Saunders, while she worked at a restaurant named Beacon in New York City. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

2 oz.Bourbon (or Rye)
1Sugar Cube (or Teaspoon of Sugar)
3 DashesAngostura Bitters
1 TeaspoonWater
GarnishOrange Peel

Directions

  • Place the Sugar Cube in a Rocks Glass and cover it in the Bitters
  • Muddle the Sugar Cube in the bottom of the Glass
  • Add the Water and Stir till combined
  • Add Ice and the Whiskey and Stir till combined
  • Express the Oils of an Orange Peel over the top and then use the Peel as a garnish

If you like Piña Coladas, you’ll like its riff, the Painkiller. The drink was created in the 1970’s at the Soggy Dollar Bar in the British Virgin Islands. Despite not inventing the cocktail, the bastards over at Pusser’s trademarked the drink and have sued people over using different Rum. You can use different Rum, but according to the evil corporate overlords, it is not a Painkiller. This cocktail has three levels with different amounts of Rum. The more pain you are currently in, the more Rum you use.

The Pink Lady (no relation to the White Lady) is a prohibition cocktail with a reputation of being a “girly” cocktail. The drink shares a striking resemblance to the Clover Club.
