  • Combine the Whiskey, Lemon Juice and Simple Syrup in a Collins Glass over Ice
  • Top with Soda Water
  • Stir till combined
  • Garnish with a Lemon Wheel, Cocktail Cherry and Straw

The naming of the John Collins and Tom Collins can be confusing. The John Collins used to be the name of the Gin variation, but was changed because of the use of Old Tom Gin. The name John Collins has recently been used to refer to the Whiskey variation.

The John Daly is an Arnold Palmer spiked with Vodka. It is named after the famous golfer of the same name, who was a notorious alcoholic at the time. The cocktail was invented in 2005 by Daton Lewis at the Whiskey Creek Golf Corse in Florida. In response this John Daly himself decided to start his own beverage company called GIASI in 2010.

The Jungle Bird was invented in Malaysia in the 1970’s. The tropical drink didn’t become popular around the world until the late 80’s.

The Kamikaze was invented by American soldiers stationed in Japan sometime after WWII, but became popular in the 1970’s. It’s name means “Divine Wind” in Japanese and is obviously named after the kamikaze pilots of World War II. The drink can be, and is often, made in the form of a shot. The Cosmopolitan is a possible riff off this cocktail.

The Knickerbockers origins are a mystery. It used to be assumed that it was invented at the Knickerbocker Hotel in New York City, but the drink first appeared in the mid 1800’s, and the hotel was build in 1906. In the 1800’s, the term “Knickerbocker” meant a New Yorker with Dutch ancestry, so it is still assumed that the drink was invented in New York.

1 oz.Light Rum
1 oz.Coconut Liqueur
2 oz.Pineapple Juice
2 oz.Cream of Coconut
1Pineapple Chunk
.5 CupStrawberries
1Banana

Directions

  • Add the Alcohol and Strawberries into a Blender
  • Blend till combined
  • Pour into a Cup and set it to the side
  • After cleaning the blender, combine the remaining Ingredients into it with Ice
  • Blend till combined
  • Pour both blended mixtures into a Highball Glass at the same time
  • Garnish with a Pineapple Wedge and Straw

The Lava Flow is a Frozen Cocktail that is usually associated with Hawaii for obvious reasons. This drink is pretty similar to the Beach Towel and the Miami Vice.

7 CupsCold Water
1.75 CupsSimple Syrup

Directions

  • Make the Simple Syrup and add it to a Pitcher
  • Juice the Lemons into a cup (Should be around a Cup and a Half of Lemon Juice)
  • Strain the Lemon Juice into the Pitcher to remove any Seeds or Pulp
  • Add the Water to the Pitcher
  • Stir till Combined
  • Add Ice

Lemonade can refer to different drinks all throughout the world. In Europe and Australia it is a clear, carbonated, Lemon-flavored Beverage. In North America and South Asia, it is a cloudy yellow drink. The directions above are for the latter. Either way, it is a deliciously refreshing drink perfect for a hot day or used to make an Arnold Palmer or John Daly.

The Lemon Drop Martini was invented in the 1970’s by Norman Jay Hobday at his bar Henry Africa’s in San Fransisco, California. It was named after the candy of the same name. In the 1990’s this became a popular shot. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Long Island Iced Tea is a dangerous drink that contains a whole slew of different Alcohols. It’s easy to drink despite being very boozy. It got its name because it looks like an Iced Tea and is from Long Island. Which “Long Island” is up for debate, however. Some claim it was invented by Robert “Rosebud” Butt in 1972 at the Oak Beach Inn in Long Island, New York, while others claim it was invented in the 1920’s by “Old Man Bishop” in Long Island, Tennessee. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.
