Directions

  • Combine the Gin, Lemon Juice and Simple Syrup in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice
  • Shake for 15 Seconds
  • Double Strain into a Champagne Flute

The French 75 is named after a field gun from World War 1. It is thought to have been originally created in the 1920’s, but some believe it was created in 1915 at a bar in Paris, France. It has since inspired a couple of spin-off drinks in the French 76, which uses Vodka, and the French 77, which uses Elderflower Liqueur. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The French 76, like the French 77, is a variation of the French 75. The main difference is the the French 75 is made using Gin, while this drink uses Vodka as its base liquor.

  • Combine the Elderflower Liqueur and Lemon Juice in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice
  • Shake for 15 Seconds
  • Double Strain into a Champagne Flute
  • Top with Champagne

Like the French 76, the French 77, is a variation of the French 75. Unlike the French 76, however, the drink had to be rebalanced because it substitutes a Liquor for a Liqueur. There is no Simple Syrup in this because sweetness comes from the Elderflower Liqueur.

1 BottleRosé
1 CupStrawberries
.5 oz.Simple Syrup
1-2 oz.Vodka (Optional)
1 BarspoonGrenadine
3 TablespoonsWater

Directions

  • Freeze the Wine (You can do this in an Ice Cube Tray or in a Shallow Container)
  • Combine the Frozen Wine and the other Ingredients in a Blender
  • Blend until Slushy (You may need to add more water)
  • Pour into some Champagne Coupes or Wine Glasses
  • Garnish with a Strawberry

Frosé or Frozen Rosé is a Wine Slushy. It may not be the classiest wine drink, but it sure is tasty and refreshing on a Hot Summer Day. This recipe can make around 6 Drinks, depending on how big you make them.

The Gin and Tonic or G and T is a classic two ingredient Cocktail. It was invented in India by the East India Company to help prevent Malaria.

The Gin Fizz is drink that dates back to at least the 1800’s. It has the same ingredients as the Tom Collins, but is distinguished by the way it is prepared and served. There are a number of variations of this cocktail. The Silver Fizz has the addition of an Egg White, the Gold Fizz has an Egg Yolk, the Royal Fizz has a whole Egg, the French 75 substitutes the Soda Water for Champagne and the Ramos Gin Fizz is a whole lot of extra effort. This drink is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Gin Sling is a modern rendition of a very old drink. The original Slings were made from sugar, water, nutmeg and a spirit. The name “Sling” actually comes from the German word Schlingen, meaning “To Swallow”. The most famous Sling is the Singapore Sling.

The Gin Sour is a classic cocktail. It is essentially the less popular cousin of the Whiskey Sour.

  • Add Ice to the Shaker

  • Top with Soda Water
  • Garnish with a Lemon Twist and Mint Sprig

The Golden Fizz, like the Silver Fizz and Royal Fizz, is a variation of the Gin Fizz. The Gin Fizz contains no Egg, while the Golden Fizz has an Egg Yolk, the Silver Fizz has Egg White and the Royal Fizz has both.

The Gold Rush is essentially a Whiskey Sour with Honey instead of Sugar. It was created at the Milk & Honey in New York City. The Penicillin is a riff on this drink, and was created at the same bar.
