Mint Julep

Ingredients
| 2 oz. | Bourbon |
| .25 oz. | Simple Syrup (or Powdered Sugar and Water) |
| 8 | Mint Leaves |
| 2 Dashes | Aromatic Bitters |
| Garnish | Mint Sprig |
Directions
- Combine the Mint Leaves and Simple Syrup in a Silver Cup
- Muddle the Mint Leaves
- Add the Bourbon and Ice
- Stir till combined
- Top with a dome of Crushed Ice
- Garnish with the Bitters, a Mint Sprig and Straw
The Mint Julep originated in the 1700’s in the southern United States. Originally it was used as a medicine. Eventually, in 1900’s, the drink became synonymous with the Kentucky Derby. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.
