The Manhattan was invented at the Manhattan Club in New York City around 1880. It has since become one of the most famous Cocktails. It is kind of like the Whiskey version of the Martini. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.
Place the Sugar Cube in a Rocks Glass and cover it in the Bitters
Muddle the Sugar Cube in the bottom of the Glass
Add the Water and Stir till combined
Add Ice and the Whiskey and Stir till combined
Express the Oils of an Orange Peel over the top and then use the Peel as a garnish
The Old Fashioned was among the first cocktails. It is thought that the term “cocktail” was actually first used in 1806 in reference to this drink. Despite this, the drink didn’t get its name until the 1880’s because this was an old way of making cocktails. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

The Classic Martini, or Dry Martini, is where it all started for martini’s. The Wet Martini is they same drink, but with different ratios of Dry Vermouth and Gin. Nobody knows when or where the first Martini was made, but it was probably sometime in the 1800’s. It inspired many riffs and spin-offs including the Vodka Martini, Perfect Martini, Dirty Martini and Vesper. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.
